Each year WSSC holds its Lighthouse Challenge Regatta.
This is a fun, specialty race where we sail around the Detroit Light at the mouth of the Detroit River at Lake Erie.
After the race we meet at Grosse Ile Township Recreation Water’s Edge Pavilion for a picnic and a Charity Auction where all funds raised go to a chosen charity. All are welcome to join in the celebration, racer or not!

At West Shore Sail Club, we're passionate about making a positive impact on our community. This year, we’re using our Lighthouse Challenge to help an organization that is dedicated to the restoration and preservation of lighthouses, Great Lakes Lighthouse Keepers Association.

All net proceeds raised will be donated to Great Lakes Lighthouse Keepers Association for their work on restoration and preservation of Great Lakes Lighthouses.
